US Army cuts order for Bell ARH

Post by Hans »

Due to delays in the delivery schedule, the Pentagon announced that it will cut its order for 348 of the Bell armed reconnaissance helicopters (or ARH) down to 250 for the next five fiscal years.

The ARH, an armed development of the Bell 407, is to replace the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, originally from 2008, but introduction into the armed forces has now been postponed.

Bell ARH contract is cancelled

Post by Peter3076 »

By rising costs and delay's the US Army has cancelled the contract with Bell for the delivery of the LUH helicopters.
The delivery was planned to start in 2009 but delayed to 2013. The costs increased from about 8 milion Dollar to 14 million Dollar. Will this give a new tender for all the factories?
