Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Wow, very nice pics.

I can not stay behind and show you a couple of my Japanese favourites. My trip to Japan was in 1998, in the analogue era, so I provide some scans made by a trustworthy CanoScan 4400F.

These were not photoshopped and certainly not edited in Lightroom, as I do not have the latter programme.

All were taken with a blue pen although I sometime use a black one. The booklet can vary in colours, but never a very bright one.

The numbers were originally processed into a blue binder, but with the introduction of the computer this changed to Word Perfect 5.1, later Word Perfect 6.0 followed by several versions of Microsoft Word.

A couple of years ago this data was processed into a database. Early one a very simple one, but for a couple of years now I use a custom made one. This is very nice and I am very happy with it.

Fact is, you're always too late!

I wish I had gone to Japan in 1993 when the P-2Js were still there! The last Neptune (7 Kokutai) was withdrawn in March 1994 - it's preserved now in the Kanoya museum. When I was there, she was still leaking oil.

And what about the 104? I saw one (actually the front half) at Gifu doing an engine test, but that was it.

Thanks Erik. Here the last ones from me. The airshow at Iruma, exactly 5 years ago today was a worthly ending of the trip. I think you remember this one as well Erik, as it was the start of yours. Still recall to have 7 Japanese guys walking in line behind me. "Mr Frank Noort of Scramble, you are famous" :-D
