Great man, thanks! i enjoyed your report big time Jeffrey, so thanks for sharing! funny to see the waterplanes in Vancouver and Vancouver island, i have been there too, and i enjoyed them very much. I allso see you took the Zodiac to do some Orca spotting, great! I have seen them too, it was a rare oppurtunity, so i took it. And considering the reaction of the canadian guy who took you to the Apron to dos some citation spotting, you gotta love the Canadians, they are so friendly!

Yes I do have more pictures, but they are completely backlit and with a lightpole in front of them.. Not really worth to share.

I have flown Icelandair for the first time.. It was a VERY good (read: Almost my best) Experience with any airline.. The seating was very spacious (said by a guy of 1.85m sitting in economy class) And the crew was very nice (and pretty! ) as well!!

I think the service of Icelandair is worse now compared to what it was ten years ago. I prefer complimentary meals on transatlantic flights.

Did you make a scenic detour? Last year our flight from Amsterdam to Keflavik lasted 2:44 hours.

2. geezz, I now checked the EXIF data on my Take off and landing, and I saw that the flight only took 3 hours indeed.. Sorry for that.
3. As Reykjavik is the only real city in Iceland, the airplane was located 180 km from Reykjavik. And there was a small (read: 30 citizens) village about 40 km's away.

Ah.. I think it is just what are your standards. I must say, I flew Singapore Airlines a couple of years ago, and it really disappointed me. Although SQ belongs to the best airlines worldwide. I just checked KLM.nl. They still fly there. However, Wikipedia (of course not the most reliable source) doesn't mention it anymore.

Overall, I think it is just your opinion whether you think a ticket is cheap or not. And as I mentioned, I didn't like SQ where someone else really likes its service. I was quite impressed by LTU/AB to Bangkok for example. Although the inflight entertainment is less sophisticated than Singapore's entertainment, the general impression of LTU I had was obviously good, as I expected alow fare airline.. but its service was really good and the crew was way nicer than SQ's crew as well.

Yep, but I'm very used to fly KLM, Delta and Air France. Not the worst airlines.. But I really liked Icelandair.

Like Nusty said, it's a low budget camera, but I've also used it intensivly.. Lot's of photography from all kinds of subjects. 6 big hollidays and some airshows and some days of spotting. Wich really pushed it to the limit I guess.. But Canon repaired it without any costs for me, so I'm happy.

KLM doesn't fly to Reykjavik. Icelandair is your only option on the Amsterdam - Reykjavik route. As long as I remember this has been the case. How did you check the KLM website?

I understand that you mean Reykjavik as the final destination. What I don't understand is what makes 300 EUR for a return ticket to Iceland such a good offer while Icelandair regularly offers flights to North America for 400 EUR or less. A much better price-quality ratio if you ask me.

Which makes the KLM fare even more attractive, I think. Much more daily rotations to choose from, hold luggage included in the price of the ticket, free sandwiches and drinks, airport staff to help you out with questions, etc.

Good for you. My non digital Canon 1000F from 1992 still functions perfectly. Back in those days 1,000 pictures a year (30 rolls of film) was quite a lot. Things sure have changed.
