97/12-YT (code looked up in Scramble database)
This one was last noted in May 2005 according to the Scramble database. Code 12-YT was last noted on Mirage 2000C #124 in February 2008, so it is very likely that the 97 does not carry this code anymore.

Nice log though, interesting to see they are now using 5-Kx codes on the ex-Cambrai aircraft!

Hi DJ,

Thanks for the info about the code on Mirage 2000C 97; let's hope that someone else can share some light on this!

It was indeed a nice surprise to see the Cambrai-codes on Mirage 2000B's 523 and 528. Maybe they intent to roulate the dualseaters between Cambrai and Orange more frequent?

Another interesting thing was the code 5-OR on Mirage 2000B 527.
There is still some doubt on the exact identity of the second dualseater that went to Brazil in September 2007. Some sources state that it was 507 (ex coded 5-OR) other sources mention 513 (ex coded 5-OI). Now I'm not trying to speculate but it is interesting!

Addition:
Mirage 2000C 97 was noted this week at Orange with code 12-YK (source: http://www.tarmacs.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Hi Erik,

For info, the 2000B 513 has been delivered to Brazil on Sept 07 as F-4933.

Thanks for that confirmation Tintin, great!

Do you know the whereabouts of Mirage 2000B 507? It hasn't been seen for quite a while. Scramble database states that it also went to Brazil for spareparts recovery. Can you confirm that?

Many thanks in advance,

Erik

Hi Erik,

The second 2000B delivered to Brazilian Air Force is the 502 (F-4932) in Sept 06.
The 507 has been retired in 2007 and as far as I know, it didn't go to Brazil.

Tintin,

Thanks again. So 507 is non-flying and probably still in France (Orange?), maybe it is destined to go to Brazil for sparepart recovery? Time will tell. In the meantime please keep us informed with movements from Orange; I love this airfield!

Btw: Have you heard anything about the departuredate of last two F-2000's to Brazil? It is said that that this will happen somewhere in December this year.

Hi Erik,

The last two 2000 have already rejoined Brazil in Aug 08: 35 (FAB4948) and 21 (FAB4949).

Oops, now that's quick. I was looking for an excellent reason to tell the wife why I had to go to Orange again in December but now I've got to come up with something else!

For its beautiful region, the lavender fields, warm climate, etc... 8)
Or the 507 going to Brazil for spare parts in December!

I'm sure you'll find the good reason.
