those were the days spotting was really exiting ?

no, yesterday's aircraft are simply vintage aircraft and belong in museums. Stick to what youve got, the variaty is still here today

Currently I'm the proud (temporary) foster-parent of a slide scanner, so at random took some slides to test the thing... turned out to be a collection of DC-9's, probably in the 1985-1987 tmeframe...
Remember those days, DC-9's were considered boring...(we're getting old...)

found some more, mid-eighties.....

CS-TBG is now with the Italian Air Force, awaiting to be replaced by B-767....

and to stay in a nostalgic mood.. here are some B-727's at SPL from around the same period (1985-87)

Olympic, this aircraft is/was until recently stored at the old Athens airport..

Great pictures, Arnaud 8)

The Libyan 5A-DIF have been withdrawn from service and stored at Tripoli I believe. Current Libyan Arab colour scheme is again with gold, unfortunately not the same c/s :wink:

Ah yes, memories.
Here is N707ZS in April 1985 when it was just obtained from China Airlines. Still with Chinese tail c/s.

A few years later this B707 was transferred to the Liberian register (I wonder why). The registration changed to EL-ZGS (Zeer Goede Staat?) as seen on this picture from 1989.

These 2 KLM DC-8's left the company in April 1985. This is either PH-DEE or PH-DEF being sprayed into the white c/s of Eagle Air.

Very nice that you were able to illustrate the life of an airframe by posting several pics.... :thumb:
She was scrapped at Dubai two years ago after 10 years of storage I just googled....

(by the way, is there already a B-707 phototopic? Searched for it, but couldn't find it..)
