Re: Tsunami strikes Japan

Interesting! UH-60J in recsue ops. This appears to be 18-4574 which was flying with the Matsushima Kyunantai back in October last year. That would mean not all assets at Matsushima AB have been damaged or destroyed. It could very well have been airborne at the time of the tsunami, I think it's likel...

Re: Tsunami strikes Japan

Yes, think you were there in October. One of the U125's registration seems to be 02-3013. According to recent report from Dutch broadcast. Yes, I was last there in October. 02-3013 was indeed the U-125A we noted at Matsushima. On the positive side: not all Matshushima residents seem to have been dam...

Re: Tsunami strikes Japan

Indeed, I believe that JAMCO does overhauls on the JMSDF TC-90 fleet? These are probably the aircraft involved. JAMCO overhauls JMSDF TC-90's and JGSDF LR-2's, amongst others. Last august we saw a new LR-2 being prepared for delivery to the army. However, as mentioned before, the footage shown was o...

Re: Tsunami strikes Japan

No, >During one of the CNN broadcasts, a Japanese C-12 was seen in the rubble. They didn't mention the airport, but I guess it's Matsushima. Maybe it was a JGSDF LR-2 at Sendai Airport. There seems that 3 military a/cs were at JAMCO maintenance company at Sendai airport and washed. The footage was o...

Re: Hyakuri Stored Phantoms

Hi,

Hans is correct, they can't be missed. Whilst there don't forget to have a look at the nearby engine run-up: we had an extra F-4 there as a bonus

Re: Hyakuri Stored Phantoms

Hi, The following were positively identified on a very rainy 28 October 2010: 57-6371 57-6372 57-6373 57-6374 57-6376 47-8342 67-8381 Some discussion whether an eight, grey F-4E tail with no markings, visible in the middle, was in fact an upturned outer wing of one of the other two grey F-4E's... Re: C17 crashed in Alaska

Uhmmm... :?: As the crash happend on the 28th (local time) I assume we can conclude that it was bird 99-0168 I very much doubt it, as 99-0168 was noted departing Lakenheath yesterday, whilst the unfortunate bird crashed while on a local training flight practising for the upcoming airshow. No need to...

Hi, Noted whilst marching, not that much to report this year... Tuesdag 20/7 @ Oosterhout: Alouette III A-292 Wednesday 21/7 @ Wijchen: CH-47D D-... overhead. I'm pretty sure I saw another Chinook somewhere but can't remember which day or where. Heat can do that to you. Wednesday 21/7 @ Beuningen: A...

Re: ETAD 08-05-2010

Ghee, As I already mentioned, the ramp can be seen. From a road turning right into a field southwest of the Village Beilingen wich is located just southwest of the airfield. This is even new to me. If someone familiar with this spot can give more detailed directions (or GPS coordinates) I think it w...
