Re: Ex CQWI at RAF Lossiemouth - July 13 [MIL]

I've already posted from Tuesday and Wednesday of week one, here is the best of the rest from Thursday till Wednesday of the second week. I was joined by Mark (Lossie15) and we tried a few new locations and ideas after capturing the 'bog standard' record shots. Plenty of banter at the fence and gene...

Aberdeen Airport July 25th

Spent an hour at Aberdeen International Airport with Mark before catching my train back to Edinburgh, I hoped to catch the NHS S-92 and AW-139 and wasn't left disappointed! The weather was pretty miserable and incited slow shutter speed fun. We lucked out in the end and bagged a few surprised too! 1...

Ex CQWI at RAF Lossiemouth - July 13 [MIL] /updated

Had an interesting and frustrating but overall good first couple of days at CQWI 2013, a few clouds ruined a lot of shots but at times the sun came from nowhere so we'll call it evens! I've even been blogging about my experiences over these two days with more posts to come, I don't want them to be a...

Re: Wittmund 25-06-2013 WTD-61 and Last JG-71 Phantom Flight

If I remember correctly, the four 'Phinal Phantom' schemes are of a Norm 72, Norm 81, Norm 90 and the 37+01. The WTD-61 jet is a separate endeavour. Which means you are catching at least two past operational schemes, one current scheme and two special schemes plus whatever other Norm 90 jets are sti...

RAF Lossiemouth Families Day 2013

Saturday saw the families day at RAF Lossiemouth, unfortunately as I was away on Friday and Monday I missed all the arrivals and I had to leave early on the Saturday so I didn't catch most of the photos the way I hoped. Regardless, it was an enjoyable afternoon and it was great to see a VC10 maybe f...

RAF Lossiemouth - 18/06/13 [MIL]

It was a pretty dull day yesterday, brightened up by a Typhoon with a live bomb and the two 617sqn specials flying all day. Plus a Hawk T1 which are getting rarer and rarer these days! 1. First up, the Hawk.. http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2865/9086775472_8a67f99f2b_b.jpg Arghh, matey by Chris Milne ...

Warlords and the new Freddie

The main target for today, shame they were carrying dummy bombs. 1. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5539/9071252222_a048796d6f_b.jpg Practice bombs by Chris Milne Photography , on Flickr 2. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3717/9069675840_3239691c9e_b.jpg Warlord by Chris Milne Photography , on Flickr 3....

RAF Lossiemouth (EGQS) - 11th June 2013

Well a promising day that almost went very much tits up. The first of three runway changes from 05 to 23 allowed us to be on the dirt track and view a VASS filled with one Tornado and five more sets of steps, the hook came next when before the Belgian F-16s were thought to be due one of the local To...

RAF Lossiemouth: 10TH JUNE.

Arrived back from RockNess at midday as a lobster and decided to wander down to Lossie later on in the afternoon. I'm glad I did as I caught the other 617sqn special after it broke in the morning and also a RAPTOR-pod equipped Tornado operating with 12sqn on war week. 1. http://farm8.staticflickr.co...
