Will be based for 3 weeks while flying missions for project Ocean Winds. Parking place is the taxiway/parking 9 in front of the viewing gallery upstairs in the terminal.
The maintenance on these jets is under strict rules by the same CAA so they should know these jets are safe and some would probably be in better shape than some airliners and military jets flying around the UK. The MK912 (G-BRRA) Spitfire took off and lost power forcing it to land back at Biggin Hill, the aircraft came down short and is heavily damaged. The pilot is OK.
Reports are appearing of a light plane crash in the south of Ireland, it appears to be the Waterford based Bede BD-5 EI-DNN.
