Yelahanka air force station houses a helicopter and a transport unit, but it is more commonly known for the bi-annual Aero India show that is held here.
North side
Th north side of the airfield is the helicopter side. They have a small ramp in the northwest with three helicopter landing spots around it. Two of the are to the west of the ramp and connecting by taxiway to the main taxi way. The other is to the northeast of the smaller ramp and is connected to that with a taxiway as well. To the east of the small ramp, a larger ramp and hangar is situated.
South side
The south side is home to the transport aircraft. A large ramp runs parallel to the runway and to the south of that three large hangars are situated. This is also the exhibition area for Aero India.
The airfield is about 20 km north of Bangalore city just west of the Bangalore-Hyderabad highway no.7.
