Re: Zeltweg 1/2 July 2011

Hi Perry, Al.3 3E-KL features twice in your list: once in the row of 6 on the far side and once in the field on the east side of the field. Is that correct (i.e., was it moved from one location to another?) No, it did not move as far as I know. I believe, from what we and others read, that the foll...

Saudi EF ETD 11:00 local time tomorrow! 8) The two Typhoons were scheduled to depart today (Sunday) at 13:00 local, but aircraft 313 went tech during (attempted) startup. The Saudi's will be pleased: on delivery and already broken... The visit by a Croatian Mi-171 (support for the PC-9's) made up f...

Not supposedly, but actually read. The top half of the tail was actually visible from the hill with the three preserved fighters.

Re: Istanbul - 2011 MIL

Also an army AB205/UH1 visited this base, which was read as 11075. But according to the database, that serial doesn't exist... Anyone for the right serial? It was definitely read as such. Fact is that these Turkish Army "serials" are more like codes: they can change when an aircraft switches unit. ...

Re: Istanbul harbour 2011

Frank, I've been looking all day for photo's made of and on the carrier during the Istanbul visit. It got a lot of media attention (the Turkish navy is in the market for a ship like this) but very few if any good pics of the two helicopters on deck. This one is the best I found yet: http://www.havac...

The second Cougar is 01-2531
Indeed Rob, we came to the same three conclusions!

Re: ETAR 25-04-2011

What a nice day yesterday, literally sun and fun! A quick note on the Thai C-130 though: strictly speaking "60108" is the aircraft's code (8th aircraft of 601 squadron), not its serial. The Thai serial system is rather complex and is even more complicated by the fact that it is written in Thai chara...

Still tracking...

Dynamica will pass under the A50 at 11.00 sharp (give or take a minute or two). With its current speed probably under the Waalbrug in Nijmegen at 11.50.

Dynamica now at the Krammersluizen, waiting for its turn. Didn't wait for it because of the lights failing.

Hans,

Hans Rolink wrote:German TV this morning showed a 40th Anniversary marked Hamamatsu Kyunatai UH-60J in action hoisting survivors.
That's 18-4552 I reported earlier. It did not sport the anniversary colours in October last year.
