Manchester 27-04-2011

Hello everybody, here some pics of my second day in Manchester. The day started clouded and cold, but turned nice, warm and sunny. First this extra long Triple Seven from Singapore: http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc223/LifelinerOne/B773-SIA-9VSWL-MAN27apr11.jpg Next a nice A330 from local Thomas...

Manchester 26-04-2011

Tuesday and Wednesday I visited Manchester as I was "in the neighbourhood" (well near Birgminham). Manchester is a great airport for spotting. Especially on the South-side of the airport many oppertunities can be found by walking on the many public foothpaths surrounding the airport. Manchester has ...

Yeah, I know. I don't even know why I typed A109, maybe because I just saw one flying while editing the pic... :?

Birmingham 25-04-2011

My work has brought me to Birmingham as well. Birmingham is not a very busy airport and it gets a lot of FlyBe's. However, it does get some biggies like Emirates, Turkmenistan and PIA. Spotting is limited to two spots if you don't have a set of steps to reach over the high and shielded fence surroun...

Re: London-Stansted 24-04-2011

Hmm, I have been to Stansted for three times and I never experienced it as a boring airport..I assume you didn't see Air Asia X or FedEx then? I will be heading for Stansted probably in June, to see some new Ryanair airframes. Anyway, nice report :) Yeah, I did see FedEx, a Triple Seven, parked for...

Duxford-Imperial War Museum 24-04-2011

Hello again! Sunday-morning I visited the great Imperial War Museum at Duxford. A real must for the aviation enthusiast. What a great museum and a big variety of planes. Photography is a challenge, as the planes are parked very close to each other. Here's a small impression. This Shackleton is curre...

London-Stansted 24-04-2011

Sunday I had to myself and I used that day to go visit the Imperial War Museum at Duxford (see other topic) and later in the evening I had a business meeting at Stansted, which was also was the place my organisation booked a hotelroom for me. Stansted is a very frustrating airport for the spotter, a...

London-Luton 23-04-2011

Hello everybody, my boss decided that it was time for my annual "go and learn from our foreign counterparts" trip. This week I will be in England. Today I spent some time at the fence at Luton, which was very, very hot. Luton is quite a nice airport, with a lot of bizzers parked. There wasn't much m...

Nice pics!

But, pay attention using the shadow/highlights-tool in PhotoShop, you've got quite some "halo's" around some
choppers.

Re: Eham/Spl 10/04/2011

Today I went to Schiphol for the first time this year... Work took a little more of my spare time in the last few months than I liked. It was a great day, especially waiting for the Air Deccan A310, which didn't show, of course. It was great weather, resulting in nice pictures. Here is a...

Re: Leeuwarden 2011 16 & 17 september

Hi all, picked up a RUMOUR which I would lik to share. I hope this will not be true :( . The dutch defence cutbacks are now known. The armed forces need no personel anymore. Infact they have to fire about 6.000 employees. The dutch airshow at Leeuwarden has lost it's most important goal which is to...

My pictures of 1997 (Part 2, 40 pics)

Hello again, time for part 2 of my 1997 pictures. All in all, I scanned more than 300 pictures from 1997, so these two topics are just an impression. Now I'm going to start with 1998, which was a great year photo-wise. But first, some pics from the second half of 1997. 1. The day after the Paris Air...

My pictures of 1997 (Part 1, 35 pics)

Hello everybody! my trip trough memory-lane is continuing, and I've finished scanning my pictures of 1997. I'm now in the process of editing them, which is also quite a task. Here are some of the more, in my opinion, more interesting pictures. 1. Kalitta/American International purchased some L1011's...
